Asperger's In Adults

Asperger's In Adults

Asperger Syndrome is a type of pervasive developmental disorder where linguistic and cognitive development are relatively preserved while social interaction and nonverbal communication are difficult.

I was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome after I became an adult.
Ever since I was little, people have been telling me that I am "hard to be around" and "a little awkward". But, I had no idea what was wrong or different.

A couple of years after becoming an adult, I began to cause problems at work and in my personal life.
This may be a disease. If it indeed is a disease, then I can come to grips with it. In order to obtain a peace of mind and to improve the quality of my life, I went to a psychiatrist for a diagnosis.
I was diagnosed with "Asperger Syndrome". I became relieved after the diagnosis. I have been in treatment ever since.
I cannot say with confidence that I am fully cured, but I am now able to objectively look at myself as "an adult with Asperger's".

This site will introduce characteristics of Asperger Syndrome and some issues that I have caused as one with Asperger Syndrome.
I would also like to introduce how to "be around adults with Asperger Syndrome" from my own experiences.
These will be based on my own experiences, so please note that this may not be applicable to all of those that have Asperger Syndrome.
